Prosthetic Hands
With one of the highest rates of limb loss in the world—a tragic legacy of decades of conflict, landmines, unexploded ordnance, and limited access to timely medical care thousands of Afghans, including children, live with upper‑limb disabilities that significantly restrict their mobility, independence, and ability to earn an income. For many, the loss of a hand is not only a physical challenge but a barrier to dignity and daily living.
HADIA Foundation is working to address this critical need by providing free prosthetic hands to individuals who would otherwise be unable to access or afford such support. In a country where assistive devices are scarce and often prohibitively expensive, a functional prosthetic hand can transform a person’s life—restoring the ability to hold objects, perform household tasks, write, work, and regain confidence.
Our prosthetic hand distributions are conducted through trained local volunteers and partner clinics, ensuring that each beneficiary receives a properly fitted device and basic guidance on its use. This community‑focused approach allows us to reach amputees in remote and underserved regions, where support is often limited or non-existent.
To date, hundreds of Afghans have received prosthetic hands through HADIA Foundation’s initiative. For many recipients, this assistance opens the door to greater independence, improved mental wellbeing, and a renewed sense of possibility.

Vocational Training
Afghanistan’s prolonged economic challenges have left millions without stable employment, forcing many families to rely on humanitarian assistance for basic survival. In a country where traditional livelihoods have been disrupted and job opportunities are limited, practical skills training offers a powerful pathway to independence and long‑term stability. Vocational training equips individuals—especially youth, women, and displaced people—with the tools they need to generate income, support their families, and rebuild their futures.
HADIA Foundation provides targeted vocational programs that empower communities with marketable skills such as mobile phone repair, tailoring, agricultural techniques, and small‑business development. These skills are chosen based on local demand, ensuring that participants can immediately apply what they learn to earn an income, either through employment or self‑employment.
Training sessions are delivered through local experts and community‑based centers, making them accessible to those who need them most, including women who may face mobility restrictions and young people with limited opportunities for formal education. Many graduates go on to open small repair shops, start tailoring businesses from home, or improve farm productivity—helping their families gain financial stability and reducing dependency on aid.
To date, hundreds of Afghans have benefited from HADIA Foundation’s vocational initiatives. Each participant trained represents a step toward stronger, more resilient communities where people have the skills and confidence to shape their own livelihoods.
With continued support, HADIA Foundation remains committed to expanding vocational training programs that foster dignity, opportunity, and long‑term self‑sustainability across Afghanistan.
