Multivitamins
HADIA Foundation is actively working to improve health outcomes for women and children across Afghanistan through its Multivitamin Project. While our health initiatives have previously included eyesight recovery surgeries and clean drinking water projects, our current focus is on addressing nutritional deficiencies among vulnerable populations.
This project is delivered in partnership with our USA-based ally, Vitamin Angels, who provide HADIA Foundation with essential multivitamins tailored to the needs of pregnant women and young children. These include chewable Albendazole tablets and Vitamin A supplements for children aged 6–11 months and 12–59 months, as well as multivitamins for pregnant women to support maternal health and fetal development.
Using our network of volunteer doctors and clinics, HADIA Foundation is distributing these multivitamins across a wide range of provinces. The project targets areas most affected by economic hardship and limited access to healthcare, ensuring that support reaches those who need it most.
To date, 6,940 women and children have received multivitamins through this initiative. This figure includes distributions from both current and earlier phases of the project, and efforts continue to expand as more communities are reached. The impact of this work is profound. For pregnant women, multivitamins help reduce risks associated with vitamin deficiencies and support healthier pregnancies. For children, they contribute to stronger immune systems, better vision, and growth during critical early years.

Eyesight Surgeries
HADIA Foundation is proud to lead the Eyesight Recovery Project, a transformative initiative restoring vision to some of the most vulnerable individuals across Afghanistan. Through this project, we focus on providing cataract surgeries—a simple yet life-changing procedure that has a profound impact on health, independence, and economic wellbeing.
Cataracts are one of the leading causes of blindness in Afghanistan, particularly affecting the elderly, women, and children in remote and underserved communities. For many, the loss of sight means the loss of livelihood, mobility, and dignity. HADIA Foundation’s response is rooted in compassion and action—bringing skilled medical teams to those who would otherwise have no access to surgical care.
These surgeries not only improve physical health but also unlock opportunities for beneficiaries to re-engage with their families, communities, and workplaces. Many recipients are able to return to work, support their households, and participate more fully in daily life, creating ripple effects of empowerment and resilience.
The impact of this project goes beyond the individual. Restoring sight contributes to improved mental wellbeing, reduces dependency, and strengthens families. Children who regain their vision can return to school, while elderly individuals can once again care for themselves and others. In a country where economic hardship and limited healthcare access are daily realities, the ability to see again is nothing short of life-changing.
